Business Analyst
Amsterdam – parttime
Job type: Contract
Keywords: Integrated Planning & Forecasting, Stakeholder management, data & technology
Dating back to the dawn of flight, this Client has been a leader of the aviation industry: they are innovators.
That is why they use data and technology for smarter and more efficient operations. They do this by building and maintaining a broad product portfolio with products such as Digital Twin, Dynamic Planning & Forecasting, digital apps to support their operational work and reliable IT applications ensuring an efficient operation.
If you want to be part of a dynamic, creative environment that constantly pushes its boundaries to deliver great products, this might be your new home.
Responsibilities
As a Business Analyst in this role, you will answer detailed questions about the set-up and configuration of the forecasting systems (master data, roles/permissions and business rules). And help to set-up the platform to fit the needs of the processes and the end-users. You are the bridge between high-level policies, process-owners, end-users and the platform capabilities. Together with the process owners, service owners and users, you will look for the best way to support the users with the new forecasting tooling. You will involve and challenge the supplier of the system to learn from their experiences, but also challenge the end-users in the (proposed) way of working.
On the “back-end” you will help to integrate the platform within the IT landscape. For this you will need to analyze and understand the operation processes, analyze data requirements and quality and create the message specifications for new interfaces or reports.
Also new ways of working and processes will have to be set up and continuous improvement will have to be worked on. It will be necessary to find out what the detailed data requirements are for this and what information from/to which source systems must be made accessible.
It is important to look at both the “as-is” and the “to-be” situation when designing the new platform. In cooperation with the solution architect, you will have to look at this from a silo-transcending process level, but you will also have to be able to describe a data model or interface at attribute level.
A challenge is that much of this information is currently not documented and is only available in people’s heads. A pro-active attitude, collaborating with different domain specialists and accurately filling in loose ends is therefore very important.

- You are creative in finding solutions and like to think out of the box. You do not let your “job profile” slow you down;
- You are able to challenge and question end-users regarding their functional business needs in a constructive way;
- You are able to simply explain complex context and subjects to various stakeholders;
- You have the ability to understand colleagues on different levels and with different expertise from Schiphol Operations to IT&DATA and from process owners to daily operation employees.
